AWS

Objective

To create AWS root user account, set up MFA, create IAM users, assign roles and set policies/permissions.

Creating AWS Account

Tools used:

• Chrome
• Internet connection

Steps:

• Go to Chrome, search for AWS free tier account
• Click on create account
• A dialog box comes up where you input the email address you want to use (New email address that has not been used to register for AWS),
• Give the AWS account a name, then click on verify email address.
• A code will be sent to your email, copy and paste it in the box provided, then click verify.
• Next you will be asked to input a password for the root user, then reconfirm the password.
• Select how you intend to use AWS (For school, work, personal)
• Input your contact details (Phone no, email address, residential address), then click on agree and continue.
• Input your billing address, select payment method, input card details, then click on verify.
• Confirm your identity by inputting your country and phone number.
• An SMS verification code will be sent to your phone number, input then submit.
